Eligibility
Who can apply?
- Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, or foreigners
- Children up to 15 years old
- Parents: minimum age 16 years old
What documents will I need?
For Singaporeans and Permanent Residents:
- Child's birth certificate
- Parent / Legal Guardian's NRIC
For Foreigners:
- Child's birth certificate and passport
- Parent / Legal Guardian's passport and a valid pass1
- Proof of mailing address2
1 Valid pass such as S-Pass, Employment Pass, Work Permit with minimum 6 months validity.
2 Include any one of the following documents: telco or utilities bill, bank statement from another bank in Singapore within last 3 months.
Fees & charges
Cash deposit charge
Free for first $25,000.00, additional $5.00 chargeable on every subsequent $5,000.00 or part thereof on amount above $25,000.00.
Coin deposit* charge
Free for first 25 coins. $2.00 chargeable on every subsequent 100 coins or part thereof.
Early account closure fee
$15.00
(If account is closed within 6 months of opening)
Replacing a lost passbook
$10.00 per passbook

* To encourage saving in our Blue Sky Junior Savers account, we are waiving the coin deposit fee at our Bedok and Jurong Gateway Customer Centres.
Visit either centre from Monday to Friday, between 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., to enjoy the service. Each account is subject to a daily limit of $200.00.

Deposit Insurance Scheme
Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$100,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law.
